I have a Reliant also. I bought new in the spring of 1980. It's a silver blue color and still looks good. I screwed up though a few years ago and took it to the beach, so the spokes are pretty rusty.
Can you tell me what the tire size is? I need to replace them and can't make out the label on the old sidewalls.

I have recently restored a Raleigh Royale. The colour is midnight blue. The serial# is RH071524, which means it was made in Canada in June of 1980. Except for the colouring it looks very similar to your Reliant. I bought my bike at a garage sale for $35, bought two new tubes and tires, and it runs beautifuly. I have recently found in the trash, a Raleigh Concorde 1982, which I am about to restore. It is not as good condition as the Royale and will require more detailed restoration.
